How to make a million dollars in business
It can be overwhelming when you launch your franchise, especially if you’re a first-time entrepreneur.
Be ready to put in the time and effort. You’re going to have to lead the efforts of growing your business.
You don’t have the same routine and structure that you did when you worked 9-5 in the office, so you need to figure out what that looks like for you now. These behaviors will lead to your future success.
Set ambitious (but realistic) goals and figure out what it’s going to take. If I want to do $500K in paint jobs this year, how many jobs do I need to book?
The hardest part: having faith. Your efforts aren’t wasted. Every sign you put up, every door you knock on, every cold call you make, every brochure you hand out. It will pay off – stay committed to the effort.
How did you start getting the word out about your franchise?
Lawn signs, lawn signs, lawn signs…and more lawn signs. I don’t know what it is about them, maybe it’s just how vibrant and green the WOW 1 DAY PAINTING branding is, but they worked amazingly well for me.
By building awareness in the area, when I reached out about services, people were already familiar with the quality of our work and how we helped their neighbors.
Were there any additional start-up costs?
Beyond the initial investment, there was no need for additional funding or loans. We had our franchise start-up costs paid back within 18 months.
The start-up costs were much lower than other franchises like restaurants because you don’t need a storefront or expensive equipment.
What resources did WOW 1 DAY PAINTING provide you with?
They had everything I needed to be successful. They had a playbook for the business and a start-up coach who helped me set up the franchise right from the start and motivated me to be successful.
There are plenty of great paint franchises but the WOW 1 DAY PAINTING branding is amazing and makes it a lot easier to get new customers.

My wife was able to quit her job and work with me at the company. We have an amazing life together and the work-life balance we always wanted but could never get working for someone else.
With our earnings from the business, we were finally able to purchase a cottage on the lake. And thanks to the team, systems and technology we’ve put in place, we can work there remotely several days per week.
The work-life balance has made a world of difference, with more freedom to live life the way we’ve always wanted.
What’s the best piece of advice you would have given yourself day one of starting your franchise?
Put in the effort now. Ensure 100% support from your family so that the results come sooner than later. You got this!
